FWIW (likely little) I got a Benz and a BMW before my Dad did. I still love his 1995 Q45a, though.

When I picked up my E39 my dad tried to persuade me to borrow him the car for a few months. He even wanted to pay for some of the repairs it needed. I would have agreed but the front shocks were completely gone which made the car interesting to drive, so I declined.
